Peaches & Cream Smoothie Recipe

This was supposed to be a regular ol’ peach smoothie y’all….that heavenly whipped cream was not supposed to happen! I just. couldn’t. resist. The combination of peaches & cream is delish!

Who remembers that song by r&b group 112, called peaches & cream? That was my jammmmm! Seriously, I remember playing that song over and over again. Well, that song happened to come on while I was in the middle of making this smoothie. So do you see now whyyy I put the whipped cream on top? LOL!…and I do not regret it one bit!

My peach smoothie taste straw slurping delicious without the whipped cream. So if for some CRAZY reason (which I don’t know why) you decide to not add the whipped cream, just know that you are still getting a healthy, and yummy smoothie. The ingredients are simple, yet flavorful. Cinnamon and ginger mixed with peaches – HELL YEAH!

I am going to give you some tips on “how to make the perfect whipped cream.” Don’t fret, this is incredibly simple!

  • When you are making fresh whipped cream, you want everything to be cold as possible. This means the bowl, and whisk need to be cold as well. It might sound strange, but stick the bowl and whisk directly into the freezer for about 20 – 30 minutes.
  • The heavy whipping cream needs to be cold as well. There is no need for it to be put in the freezer, but it should only come out the refrigerator immediately before you are ready to use it.
  • Use a Stand Mixer.Β Don’t try to do this by hand. You will not get the same result.
  • Whisk at high speed. Put your setting on the highest speed possible for about 1 minute, or until stiff peaks form. You will start to see it turning into whipped cream!
  • Careful not to over mix the whipped cream. Shut it off immediately after it is finished, and you’re done!

Looks like I need to do a post on “how to make whipped cream” huh? I got it covered!

Peaches & Cream Smoothie Recipe

Yield: serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cup frozen peaches, sliced
  • 3/4 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 2/3 cup milk, or almond milk
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • pinch of ground ginger
  • FOR THE WHIPPED CREAM:
  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, or powdered sugar
  • (I recommend using a KitchenAid Stand Mixer for this.)

Instructions

  1. Take the whisk and bowl off of your stand mixer and stick it directly into the freezer. Leave it in the freezer for about 30 minutes. (Read post to see why).
  2. To make the smoothie, add peaches, yogurt, milk, honey, cinnamon, and ground ginger to a blender. Blend until smooth. When finished, pour smoothie into the glass/cup you plan to use and set aside.
  3. After about 30 minutes, take the mixer bowl and whisk out of the freezer, and attach it to the stand mixer to use. Add cold heavy whipping cream and sugar to the mixer bowl. Whisk at full high speed for about 1 minute, until stiff peaks form (It will start to look like whipped cream). Then shut it off immediately so you don't over mix it.
  4. Pour desired amount of whipped cream on top of your smoothie. Garnish with sprinkled cinnamon.

Thank you very much! I tried to make whipped cream before without putting the bowl in the freezer, and it was watery for me. The bowl in the freezer works like a charm! Thanks for stopping by. πŸ™‚
